- Associate Members –Institutions and individuals associated with shipbuilding and ship repair, including those involved in supporting industries, shipping, marine technology, and related services. This category also includes organizations that contribute indirectly to the maritime value chain.
- Individual & Academic Members – Maritime professionals, naval architects, marine engineers, researchers, and scholars, as well as universities and technical institutes engaged in maritime research, education, and innovation.

Application Process

We welcome applications from shipyards, allied industries, individual professionals, and academic institutions that align with our mission to advance India’s shipbuilding and maritime sectors.
Steps to Apply for Membership:
- Choose Membership Category
Identify the appropriate category of membership (Ordinary, Associate, Individual, or Institutional).
- Submit a Formal Request
Prospective members are requested to submit a formal letter or email expressing their interest in joining ISBA. The request should include:
- Name and nature of the entity (e.g., shipyard, company, academic institution, or individual)
- Brief background and relevance to the shipbuilding or maritime sector
- Proposed category of membership (Ordinary, Associate, Individual, or Institutional)
- Contact details of the authorized representative
- Send Your Expression of Interest
The request may be submitted to the ISBA Secretariat at the registered address or via the official email ID.
- Board Review & Approval:
All membership requests are placed before the Board of the Indian Shipbuilders Association for consideration. Admission to ISBA is subject to the Board’s review and approval.
- Confirmation & Onboarding
Upon approval, ISBA will formally communicate the admission decision along with onboarding details, membership terms, and applicable contributions.
